 If you are not under the rock or living in the jungle by this time you must have heard about the App DeepNude that strips women's photos in seconds. (Read here how it works). The internet is literally flooded with the news. But hours after the news went viral and got widespread attention within no time the service got shut down ''officially'. (Read here: Why it shutdown). The official website DeepNude.com hosted by DeepNude Team closed down the service saying that, the world is not ready yet for this technology. 

The news does not end here. Though the DeepNude software was closed down officially, the DupeNude team acknowledged that there might be some copies available on the internet. As the app works offline, whoever got a chance to download it before the services closed down can still use the application software.

However,  DeepNude Team made it clear in their website policy that sharing the application by any means or downloading it from any other sources is not legal. Further, the team will not be held responsible if usage of the application attracts any legal action. The user will be solely responsible for the same.

Now, as the application has support for striping only women's images, usage of this software may be considered a potential abuse tool towards them. In some countries creating or morphing anyone's photo without their consent is not legal that could lead anyone to jail with a heavy fine.

We also should not forget this is the technology we are talking about. There are a hundred minds to replicate software within a very short time. Engineers with good coding knowledge can easily replicate or modify this kind of code once the application is released.

It is reported in the news that a user from Reddit cracked the version to premium. He even released it to the internet and some more copies have been downloaded. Though the link has been removed later on the basis of violating the policy of the hosting site.

Let us talk about the performance of the application. We managed to get one version with premium access when it was launched (before the website was closed down). This is our experience. 

• The performance of this application is not up to the mark as it is claiming.
• Photos with someone wearing revealing clothes may give a better result.
• The output resulted from the photo after morphing is stumped with a watermark of 'fake' in multiple places.
• Even the premium version of the application that costs $99, does not remove all watermarks. They are still there albeit lesser than the free version.

• Technically the Neural Network (Artificial Intelligence Technology) is not as strong as you are imagining it to be.
• The photos are like a photo-shopped version of any image by a novice.

Even before the launch of this app there are hundreds of morphed nude photos of celebrities are available. But as this software was very easy to use and the photos can be undressed easily, misuse of the application and abuse towards women would have been much easier. That is why the maker of this application realized later that it did not deserve to be available on the market of the internet.

Nobody Knows This Instagram Trick

Now for the readers please be aware of the fake websites claiming the software to be available with them and they are asking you to complete some challenges or surveys to download the file. Do not fall trap on those fake websites. There are hundreds of sites opened just after the news has been all over the internet. They are just trying to build up some database or take access to your computer's media file or may access your camera.

DeepNude App Really Shuts Down? | 2021

It is all over the internet that DeepNude application based on Deepfake algorithm can create a nude out of a fully or partially clothed women. But hours after the news got viral, the application and its website are finally shutting down after receiving too much attention. An official tweet made by the team that they realised the world is not yet ready for this kind of application and misuse could be too high to be controlled. 

In its official tweet, the team acknowledged that some copies are already available on the internet or to persons who already bought. However, those versions will not be upgraded anymore, and any amount paid to them for the same will be refunded. They further added, they will not be held responsible if somebody downloads any copy of the software from any other sources(or share it by any other means) because it is against their website's policy.

Share Your WhatsApp Status Story with FB, Instagram, Gmail etc.| 2021

It seems every now and then, WhatsApp is now pushing its boundary to enhance users' experience with its new feature. The Facebook-owned company WhatsApp will give the users an option to share their status story with other Apps as well.

Recently, WhatsApp launched a Beta Program to monitor the user experience to share statuses with apps like Instagram, Facebook, Gmail, or Google Photos. It is to be noted that though a user can share their statuses with Facebook or other Apps, a WhatsApp account is not going to be linked with them, as it is claimed in the news.

This feature will be like any other application that lets users share their data from one app to another. The new feature in the back-end will use the standard data sharing APIs used in current Android or iOS smartphone Apps.

How the feature will be accepted when it rolls out, that will not be known until it sees the light of the day but it can be anticipated that WhatsApp is going to attract some debate and legal actions because they are going to ‘share’ data with another app.

Lastly, it should be kept in mind that the option to use this feature will be entirely controlled by the user of WhatsApp.

MeshTalk Lets You Talk/Text without SIM, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth| 2021

What if we tell you that you can send messages or call your friends without Cellular Data, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth Connectivity. Will you believe that? If no, please start believing. Yes, in near future, with the help of MeshTalk technology, you can text or talk to your friend without having any traditional connectivity being used today.

World Mobile Congress (WMC in short) 2019 event held in Shanghai, China has revealed too much of Technology is going that are going to be the part of the upcoming smart gadgets, mostly on smartphone.

Recently, the smartphone making company OPPO shared a new technology named MeshTalk that will allow a user to make call or text without having a Cellular connection Or Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Network to the mobiles within the range of 3 km.

The feature has been demonstrated by placing two mobile next to each other without having any kind of connectivity through Cellular/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. A text message has been shared from one mobile to any mobile with their MeshTalk technology.

It is said that the MeshTalk feature is creating a LAN (Local Area Network), and the information or data is being shared. Indeed these messages are sent with a new level of privacy because it is direct communication between two endpoints. (Unlike cellular connectivity that requires the base station to be the intermediate point).

Though the demo was shown by placing the phone side by side, it is claimed that MeshTalk can work for 3 km in open space and in “Complex Urban Environments.”  The exact roadmap for this feature to be available in smartphones has not been announced yet. Understandably, this feature is initially targeted to be launched with OPPO sets only as it requires a dedicated chipset.

But nobody knows what exactly the future has on its plate to offer. The feature might get adopted by other smartphone makers if it is going to be successful commercially.

Till then, we have to keep using Cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity.

In a recent post, NASA has mentioned that you can send your names along with the Mars 2020 rover, which is gearing up for its seven-month journey to the red planet. If you submit your name, you will be issued a boarding pass from NASA that contains information about the launch site, arrival site, and the name of the rocket. Pretty cool, right! Just follow these simple steps:

• Search any well-known animal names (say, Tiger)

Click on 'View in your space.'

• Click on the 'View in 3D' option.
• You will get to see the animated animal (making sound) with the option 'View in your space.'
• Hit 'View in your space' and give access to media and sound to your phone.
• The camera will be opened. Move your phone in a circular motion centering a point on the floor.
• See the magic. The animal(Tiger) will appear Live.
• Now, you can give your creative pose with your favorite animal.

For the time being, the number of animals coming alive is limited. It seems Google will keep adding to the list, and someday each animal will be covered.

Realme Beast Equipped with 64 MP Shooter

Realme, a relatively new entrant in the budget smartphones has confirmed that it is working on a new smartphone that is equipped with 64-megapixel camera sensor.

 

CEO Madhav Sheth has tweeted a photo taken from the 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor. It comes with a mega 1.6µm pixel and 1/1.72” sensor. The ISOCELL Bright’s tetra cell technology improves light sensitivity in low-light conditions. It is also provided with a smart WDR feature that permits multiple exposures in a single shot, resulting in greater detail for bright and dark areas. The advanced Super-PD PDAF sensors can identify the distance of fast-moving objects even in low light resulting in fast and accurate autofocusing. 

The photos shared by Sheth compare pictures taken by the Realme 64MP AI quad camera and Redmi Note 7 pro 48MP triple camera.

We can easily infer that the photos taken by the 64MP shooter are crisper and more detailed than the Note 7 pro camera.

Sheth has confirmed that this smartphone will be launched first in India. Any other details of this phone have not yet been released.

OnePlus TV Launched Sooner than We Expected

It seems that One Plus will not get settled down with its primary product Android Smart Phone. OnePlus has already grabbed the smartphone space by offering high-end phones at reasonable prices. Now it seems the company is going to take a shot in the entertainment sector also. Though it was only hinted that OnePlus had been working on a TV project, but now It is all over the news that OnePlus is going to launch an Android-based TV by the end of this year, sooner than everybody expected.

 The current CEO, Pete Lau, back in September, unveiled the news of the TV project by OnePlus. He revealed that the OnePlus TV will debut with a “total connected” experience and emerge as a “premium, flagship TV.” As that sounds, the TV is not going to be a ‘regular’ smart Android TV, but an ‘intelligent smart hub.’

 It is rumored that the TV will act as a smart hub that will drive and control other smart home appliances. The TV is expected to compete with the already existing Xiaomi’s MI TV series.

Though Twitter is flooded with the news of the OnePlus TV, the actual date of the launch is found nowhere. It is also unclear whether the Android Smart Hub TV will get launched in India or in global markets. The price range of the TV is not mentioned anywhere, but as the description suggested, it is evident that the OnePlus TV will not be much affordable.

In a media interview, the CEO said, "The home - perhaps the most important environment experience - is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity. Something that seems as simple as displaying the photos from your mobile phone to a television is still difficult to achieve. With the development of AI technology, our imagination is endless - and we are looking forward to the future."

Last year the company already made a contest to name their TV in OnePlus Community. The finalized name is not in the news, though; we may have to wait for the moment it will see the light of the day.

exFAT USB disk file system on Linux distribution, Ubuntu | 2021

The File system is essential when we want to transfer files from one platform to another. There are four types of file systems: FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and exFAT. Among these, only the exFAT can be used on any platform, be it Windows, MAC, or Linux. Moreover, it supports the transfer of file size greater than 4 GB, unlike in FAT32, which has limitations in file size. This article will show how we can read a USB disk formatted with an exFAT file system on a widespread Linux distribution Ubuntu. 

Ubuntu does not come with pre-installed packages to recognize the exFAT system. If you connect a USB with an exFAT file system, it will show the following error: 

  

To bypass this error, you have to install the packages exfat-fuse and exFAT-utils manually. Let us see how to do it.

1. First, make sure your system is connected to the internet. Next, open the command window. To open the command window, go to search and enter the keyword ‘command.’ Select terminal from the search results.

2. Type the following commands in the command line:

sudo apt install exfat-fuse exfat-utils

3. You will be prompted for the password. Enter the password of your system.

4. Two packages required to read exFAT file system, exFAT-fuse, and exFAT-utils will be installed.

Now you can access your USB drive on Ubuntu.

How Under-Display Camera or ‘Notch-Less’ Display Works | 2021

How many of us have been irritated by the notch on the top of the screen? How many of us have wanted a true full-screen bezel-less display? Well, Vivo achieved the same by using a motorized pop-up camera. But that limits the sensor size of the  front camera, which in  turn compromises the quality of the photos.

Xiaomi has unveiled its Under-Display Camera Technology to provide a Full-Screen Display coexisting with a front camera. Currently, they are exploring the possibility of hiding the front camera under the display itself! When the selfie camera is activated, the display area over the camera becomes transparent instantly, allowing light to enter. Let us see how Xiaomi plans to achieve this.

They use a custom display with a small area of a transparent display, which is made using a special low-reflective glass with high transmittance. When not in camera mode, the transparent display acts like a regular screen, allowing you to use the entire screen as a display. The front camera is hidden under the transparent display, which itself doubles as a camera lens.

Since this display embedded camera combo allows more light to enter the lens, it produces clearer and crisper photos than the currently used pinhole camera. When the display is turned off, the camera disappears and results in a black surface that is entirely seamless. Moreover, this technology will also allow smartphone companies to use larger lenses for the front camera, which has been so far restrained by the size of the notch.

So very soon, we can bid goodbye to the notch that has been bothering us and get a true full-screen display.

PUBG LITE India Pre-registration Event | 2019

Toned down version of PUBG called PUBG LITE is going to get released in India very soon. After a successful launch of PUBG Lite in countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brazil, and Bangladesh, the lightweight version of this game is confirmed to be released in India and many other Asian countries. The official PUBG India Facebook page released a picture including a silhouette of the Taj Mahal with the Words ‘PUBG LITE COMING SOON’.

Targeting the largest market for PUBG for the battle royale game, it is revealed in the news that early birds with pre-registration will get a free gift. Though the official date for releasing the game is not unveiled, the last date of the pre-registration to the PUBG LITE version is 3^rd July.

PUBG in the mobile gaming sector managed to make a great deal of success in the Asian country. Cheap data rates and reasonable mobile specs PUBG mobile makers dominated the Asian market in no time. PUBG for the PC version was yet to be launched because of its high-end requirements.

But finally, in SAARC countries pre-registration had already begun on June 20. Few keys not to be missed:

1. During this registration players who are new have to create an account for free at the PUBG LITE website
2. Other mobile users can log in to the website with their old mobile credentials
3. Once the account is created, players link their Steam, Xbox, PS4 account by clicking ‘Participate in Event.’

5. There are conditional awards for the players also. If the pre-registration exceeds over 100K, players will be awarded with Black Scarf, Punk Glasses, and Bloody Combat Pants.
6. The Gold PUBG scarf, Striped Long-sleeved Shirt and Red Sports Top will be made available as if the registration benchmark exceeds 200K registration
7. The awards will be entertained via in-game codes, and players will be notified through registered email.

For the time being PUBG LITE version is PC only game. Though a mobile version can be launched in India, confirmation has not been done yet. The lightweight version of PUBG do not need dedicated GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to be available on the PC. The requirements of the Game is as below:

• Minimum 4GB RAM, 4GB storage
• Inbuilt Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon HD7870 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 is recommended

Which USB File System to Select: NTFS, FAT, FAT32 and exFAT | 2021

With the advent of USBs transfer of files has become a lot easier and faster. Just stick the USB in the slot and copy the files. Voila! However, sometimes you must have faced an issue with an error: 'file is too large for the destination file system' while copying files of large size or transferring files from Windows to Linux or vice versa. Today we will discuss the reason and solution of these issues.

We must have seen the above image many times while transferring files. Even though the pen-drive capacity is higher than the file size, the file cannot be copied to the USB disk, and the above window appears. To solve the above problem, let us understand the different types of file systems.

There are four types of file systems: NTFS, FAT, FAT32, and exFAT.

Most USBs come in a FAT32 formatted file system. This file system is compatible with all types of operating systems i.e. windows, Linux and Mac. Hence, files can be copied from one type of OS to another. Now the limitation of the FAT32 system is that it can handle individual file size of only up to 4GB, i.e., if the size of one file is greater than 4 GB, you will not be able to copy it in the USB disk, and a window similar to the above will appear. Here’s where NTFS comes to our rescue.

NTFS supports individual file transfers of size higher than 4GB. Hence whenever you face a problem with copying files of larger size, just format the USB drive using the NTFS file system. This option is available while formatting the disk. Formatting the drive will delete all the data in it. Just select the NTFS option in the encircled drop-down menu in the image below:

Now we can transfer file sizes of greater than 4GB. So far, so good. But this file system is recognized only by windows. You cannot transfer files cross-platform, unlike FAT32. What if we want to transfer a file larger than 4 GB in size from windows to mac? That’s where exFAT comes in. This file system is recognized by all platforms and can transfer file size greater than 4GB. In other words, it combines the advantages of FAT32 and the NTFS system.

Again there’s one problem. Windows has not provided any option to format the drive using the exFAT file system. Fortunately, this can be done by using the command prompt. Just open the command prompt in admin mode, i.e. ‘Run as administrator.

Type the following command:

format X: /FS:exFAT

where X is the name of your USB drive.

Now you will see this in the Command prompt:

Insert new disk for Drive X:

and press ENTER when ready....’ 

Check if disk/Pen Drive/Thumb Drive(the one you want to change the file type) is properly inserted and listed under 'Devices and drivers'. Now hit ENTER. That’s it. You will get to see the progress in percentage. Sit back and relax.

As it is changing the storage type, it might take time more or less than 15 minutes depending upon the size of the external disk and the processing time of your PC/Laptop.

Once the disk is formatted using the exFAT file system the below messages will be shown.

Your external disk/Pen Drive can be used to transfer bigger files (any size smaller than the space of the disk) in any Operating System.

Run Command Prompt in Administrator Mode in All Windows OS | 2021

Command Prompt or cmd in short, is a command-line interpreter application (located as cmd.exe in c:/windows/system32 directory) available in most Windows operating systems. It is used to execute entered commands. Most of those commands automate tasks via Powershell scripts and/or batch script programming, perform advanced administrative functions, and troubleshoot or solve certain kinds of Windows issues.

Command Prompt is sometimes referred to as Windows Command Processor. Though simple functionalities can be done in cmd without having administrator privilege. While running scripts or troubleshooting, it is compulsory to run the command prompt in administrator mode. Here will discuss how to open and run the command prompt in administrator mode in 5 different easy ways in your windows.

Method 1: Run from the Search box

1.   Hit ‘windows key’ W and type in 'cmd'.

2. Under Best match, right-click on 'Command Prompt' and select 'Run as administrator.' (If you are not log in with an administrator account, you will be prompted to enter the administrator password. Proceed with that if necessary. )

3. You may get the hint on the User Account Control asking, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?". Nothing to worry about it. Click on Yes, the Command Prompt will be opened with Admin privileged. 

• Identify command prompt with or without Admin privilege. 

Method 2: Run from Start Menu

1. Click on Windows 10 Start icon, or press "Windows" key on the keyboard.

2. Select Command Prompt and right-click on it, and then select "Run as administrator".

Method 3: Use "W + X" key

1. Right-click on the Windows Start button or press the "W + X" key on the keyboard.

2. Select "Command Prompt (Admin)" to run.

(On Windows 10 Update, the Command Prompt may not be there in the Start Menu bar, so get the other methods to open it.)

Method 4: Open from Task Manager

1. Open Task Manager. (Search "task manager" on the search box and click on Task Manager to open it.)

2. If you are the first time to open Task Manage on this system, it will be shown on the Fewer details mode. Click on More details to expand it.

3. Click on File, hold on the "Ctrl" key and click on "Run new Task", then the Command Prompt will be opened as administrator.

Method 5: Open from File Explorer

1. Press "Windows + R" or type in "run" on the search box to open Run.

2. Type in: %windir%\System32\, and press Enter to open the System32 folder.

3. Find the file name: cmd.exe, right-click on it and select "Run as administrator".
