An AC that accompanies you wherever you go. Sounds mind-boggling, right? However crazy the idea might seem to be, it is now made possible by Sony, who have come up with an innovative portable AC that can be worn with your clothes. The portable AC, called Reon Pocket, is smaller and lighter than a mobile phone. Sony says it has used the Peltier effect for this AC- a mechanism used in car and wine coolers. This device can be worn on the back or neck with dedicated inner-wears available in S, M, and L.
It releases cool air through a small rear panel. The device is equipped with a lithium-ion battery which can last for 90 minutes with two hours of charging. The temperature can be controlled by a smartphone which will be connected to the device via BlueTooth. Reon Pocket supports Bluetooth 5.0. This portable AC will cost about Rs 9000, which includes the price of inner-wears also. Currently, it is available only in Japan. Moreover, the dedicated inner wears are available for men only.
This mini AC might solve the discomfort caused when stepping out in the scorching heat of summer.
